Preparing for Your Tiny Site
This page is your Tiny Site prep hub. It covers the key steps that help us launch smoothly—content, design inputs, and the technical details like domain/hosting and email setup (as needed). Use the sections below as your checklist so we can keep the build moving quickly and avoid last-minute hiccups.
Work through the sections below — then use the Content Guide as you prepare your content.
Domain and Email
Domain Name
First things first, if you don’t have a domain name yet you’re going to need one. I recommend the following registrars:
Hover – https://www.hover.com
NameCheap – https://namecheap.com
These services are secure, easy to use, and inexpensive without the usual marketing fluff.
Domain Based Email
A professional email associated with your domain name is a requirement so your customers and clients feel secure when corresponding with your business. When you purchase your domain name, you can also setup your email with Hover.
GSuite is also another solid option for email hosting
GSuite is more than email hosting, providing many additional features like online cloud storage, shared calendars, and video and voice conferencing.
Your Prep Work
First impressions. On the internet, potential customers will make snap decisions based on how ‘you’ look, and what ‘you’ say. It’s important to that you provide me with pictures and words based on your business processes and values. The tone is yours. The story is yours.
If you have a logo, and business colors, that’s a start. Pictures of your services or products, and then tell me about yourself.
What you’ll need to prepare and send to me:
Content for each section of your Tiny Site (the words and images you want in each section)
Your Logo (if you already have one)
Your color choices (we’ll explore this together as well in our initial discovery meeting).
Links to your social media accounts.
If you’ll be building an email list (recommended), the API key from your email list provider (example ConvertKit).
If you want to embed your scheduling calendar on your Tiny Site (rather than link to it), the embed code for your calendar (I can help you with this).
And possibly other items depending on the page sections you need on your Tiny Site.
Don’t worry! I’ll make it super easy for you to send this my way. Once you’ve submitted your intake form and payment, you’ll receive a welcome email with all the details, including links to guides and online forms to gather and send your stuff my way. We will review it all during our initial discovery call, so don’t stress!
